East Fremantle Junior Football Club held it’s Jumper Presentation Day for 2013 on Sunday April 7th. The autumn weather was simply magnificent, and bode well for an enjoyable afternoon. EFJFC President Travis French kicked off the formalities by welcoming all players and parents to the 2013 season. This was followed by EFJFC Life Membership inductions for Gary Dundon, Barry Dux, Penny Lombardo and Mark Merendino. The Year 12’s team was then presented with their jumpers, with captain Michael Zoiti looking forward to an exciting year for the Power. All teams then broke to their own areas, and presented jumpers to the players for their respective teams.
East Fremantle Junior Football Club owes a great debt of gratitude to all our Life Members. On this day, Mark Merendino was among four new inductees. Mark has given over 10 years service to EFJFC. As well as being a past player and very passionate loyal Power supporter, Mark has coached Auskick from 2003-04, and through the grades from 2008-9 & 2011-12. He held the office of EFJFC President from 2006-07, and has also performed other committee roles such as Coaches Co-ordinator and P&D Advocate for several years. We thank all our Life Members for their wonderful service.
The EFJFC Y12’s team were presented to the entire crowd as the pinnacle of Junior/Youth Football. This team consists of a majority of players who reached the Y11’s Grand Final last year, with an injection of some new faces. They are looking forward to working hard, and playing hard, in an effort to reach the Grand Final again, this time looking to go one step further. Michael Zoiti was announced as the head captain, with two other on-field captains Josh Hogan & Matt Dart. Good luck to the team in reaching their goal, and good luck to all teams for Round 1.
