East Freo Power Y5s Blue were crowned winners of the 2014 Lightning Carnival held at Winnacott Reserve on Sunday 31st August.  After three tight wins, and a draw against Booragoon Blue/Red combined, East Freo were called back to Winnacott for the Grand Final against Booragoon Blue/Red as the two highest ranked teams at the end of the day.  Whilst having most of the play in the first half, the Power were down by four points at the half time break.  In the second half they switched up a gear, to score 2.2.14 to 0.0.0, and take out the Trophy.  The boys were pumped having won through last years Round Robin, but getting pipped by Booragoon having a higher score!

Well done too, to East Freo Power Y4s White in making the Grand Final from 16 teams, but getting beaten for the trophy by Willetton.  Awesome job by the Y4s crew, in organising the carnival and raising over $4,000 from the day.

The East Freo Power Y6s Blue/White combined team, were runners-up to Bullcreek Leeming Y6s Bulls in a hard fought grand final, and did the jumper proud.  They made the final on the back of an awesome comeback in the preliminary final against one of the Booragoon teams.  After being four goals down at half-time, they stormed home with the breeze in the second, to win by four points.
